High school football photos by Andrew Bash

Andrew and another student attended a high school football game with me at Tecumseh High School on Sept. 9. Andrew was the photographer that night and got some great shots at what turned out to be a terrific game with a great finish. Tecumseh beat Miami Trace 26-21.

Andrew had two assignments. One was to put together a group of four photos that would be used in the next day's newspaper. The next was a group of 12 that would be used in an online photo gallery.

If you want to know more about the game, you can read the story I wrote for the Springfield News-Sun. I do a lot of freelance work for the newspaper.

VANDALIA – Vandalia-Butler is off to a 2-0 start after beating Tecumseh 37-22 at home Friday night.

Butler gained 362 yards on the ground led by senior Tyler Jones who rushed for 257 yards on 26 carries. This is Jones’ second 250-yard game of the season. Jones says his success is because of the offensive line providing great paths for him to run.

“Those guys work really hard and they earn every bit of what we accomplish out there,” Jones said. “I owe it all to them.”

Our entire class covered a Dayton Dragons minor-league baseball game on Aug. 28, 2011. It turned out to be the day the Dragons clinched a second-half division title and playoff berth in the Class A Midwest League.

Joel's assignment was to produce a video report on the game similar to the kind done for local newscasts.
